The Working Mind
Legal Sector Manager

The Working Mind for Legal Managers was developed in collaboration with the Ontario Bar Association, and is built specifically for managing partners, law firm leaders, general counsel,
and supervisors.

Leadership in the legal profession means balancing high-stakes client demands, strict deadlines, and a culture that hasn't always made room for how people, including the leaders carrying all of it, are actually doing. This training goes beyond general workplace wellness, giving leaders concrete ways to manage team performance, prevent burnout, and protect psychological health and safety under real pressure. You'll learn to spot early shifts in your team, navigate mental health accommodations, and guide your firm through a critical incident with steadiness rather than guesswork.

A shared, non-stigmatizing language and a clear leadership framework are what make that possible, so your team can perform at its best without anyone, including you, having to burn out to get there.

Legal and HR professionals report the highest burnout rates of any professional sector in Canada - and senior lawyers and managing partners carry both the weight of demanding files and the unspoken expectation to hold it together for their teams, often without the tools to do either.

Why Both Matter

Atelier Mental Health Literacy + Facilitation delivers The Working Mind as parallel programmes - one designed specifically for managers and one for employees - because what each group needs from this training is genuinely different.

When both cohorts complete their respective streams, they return to the same workplace with a shared language and shared frameworks for mental health. That shared foundation is what builds psychological safety - and psychological safety is what changes workplace culture.
